Where are we at now? - The consoles

PS4, Xbox ONE and WiiU have been out for quite a while, and their sales are surprising, but not all are surprising in a good way. PS4 has sold 1 million units on its first day in the US, while the Xbox ONE sold the same amount on its first day worldwide. Keep it in mind that neither of the consoles has opened its arms to some markets, Xbox ONE still has 14 markets to start selling in (Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Singapore, India and more) while the PS4 still hasn't been released in Japan (22nd of January 2014), also known as its saving point and a guaranteed number of sales ranging from 1million to 10 million units. The statistics shown below are only for the next gen consoles (WiiU included, even though i'd say it's a last gen console). All of the following charts were not created by me, they're creations of IGN Entertaintment.
As seen above, the PS4 is in advantage, and has sold more than the WiiU in its 11 months of existence on the physical market worldwide. The Xbox ONE has had a solid lauch, and is going pretty strong, even though it doesn't seem like it, and you will soon find out why.
Yes, we all remember the lauches of the last-gen consoles, the PS3 and the Xbox 360. PS3 sold slightly more consoles in its first 6 weeks than the Xbox 360, but the difference can be evaded. The WiiU however, had a really, really strong start, compared to its current sales, and was stronger than PS3 and Xbox 360 when it comes to launch. The chart below shows sales of all the compared consoles in their first 6 weeks. Some people say that the WiiU sold more than 2 million in its first 6 weeks, but after that the sales went down, so judging by that, anything can happen to the PS4 and to the Xbox ONE.
It's hard to believe that Nintendo failed to keep up, after they had completely crushed their competetion Microsoft and SONY. Right now, the WiiU is struggling, and many gamers think that the console won't even be sold in 20 million. The PS3 was released a year after the 360, and still managed to sell the same as the 360, while Nintendo's Wii console sold much more. The PS3 would probably have sold more if it came out in the same year as the 360, because its sales were more common. The chart below shows the number of current sales for every compared console. Remember that the stats for the last gen consoles were last updated in November 2013.
So, what do these figures mean? Is SONY in the lead? Who has the most money in their pockets? Well, the PS4 and the Xbone were sold even before they came out, it's obvious that Microsoft made more consoles, and that SONY didn't make enough. Right now, these are only the sales that, indeed, mean something, but can also change very fast, the best example of that is the WiiU.
